Owen is a Chartered Surveyor who joined McNeill Lowe and Palmer as a Director in 2007 having previously worked for another firm in the area, and prior to that for firms in North London and Belgravia.
He spent his formative years growing up in Harpenden and attended St Albans School before obtaining an Honours Degree in Urban Land Economics and shortly thereafter qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in 1993.
He has, during his professional career, specialised in all aspects of general practice surveying with particular emphasis on valuation of commercial and residential property for a variety of institutional and private purposes. He is particularly interested in Landlord and Tenant work including rent reviews/Lease renewals and dilapidations work. He strongly believes in representing both sides of the argument working for both Landlords and Tenants, which provides a better understanding and rounded approach to the issues involved, and enables settlement to be reached more easily as clients are correctly advised in the first instance. He has seen too many disputes escalate unnecessarily due to inadequate advice to the client in the first instance.
Happily married with two children who are growing up too fast, he spends his spare time renovating his Grade II Listed house and taxiing his children between their chosen activities. He is also Chair of Governors of a local school and a Director of a local Educational Trust.
